The JCC’s New Jewish Theatre was an outgrowth of the long history of theatre programming of the Jewish Community Center. In 1997, the need was recognized to develop a professional theatre program with programming that reflected the Jewish experience. Since its inception, the theatre has continued to grow at an outstanding rate, both in size and in quality.
Beginning with a season of only three productions of eight performances each to the current season’s five productions of 13 performances each, the theatre has continued to attract a very large and loyal audience base.
In 2011, the theatre added a Classical Chamber Music Series, the Salon Music Series, to its offerings, giving Chamber Music a regular presence in St. Louis county. The programming includes both stand-alone Salon Concerts and a one week summer chamber music festival, the Gesher Music Festival of Emerging Artists.
The theatre is located in our new state-of-the-art Marvin & Harlene Wool Studio Theatre in the Arts & Education Building of the JCC's Staenberg Family Complex. Ticket information: 314-442-3283
